He finally reaffirmed the reliability of the police to serve with dignity and integrity to the Human Rights Monitoring Agenda HURMA and as well assures the open door policy of the Osun State Commissioner of Police.

The action was sequel to earlier petition received by HURMA where some residents of Osun State from Wakajaye and Oluwada communities in Gbogan area sent a Save Our Soul message to the office of Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA), requesting for urgent intervention of the body in addressing the plight of Amusan Family members who are presently under attack by some alleged invaders and land grabbers.

In the letter to HURMA signed by the head of the Amusan family, Mr. Gabriel Amusan with a title:
“URGENT CALL ON HUMAN RIGHTS MONITORS, HURMA TO RESCUE OUR (AMUSAN FAMILY MEMBERS) LIVES AND PROPERTIES FROM INVADERS/ LAND GRABBERS IN GBOGAN, OSUN STATE”, the Amusan family called for urgent intervention to avoid communal clash.

“We are members of Amusan Family which forms one of the four larger sections of Okunremi family and have been living peacefully in Wakajaye/ Oluwada communities until recently when some elements within the community in collaboration with one Madam Janet Olatunbosun came to inform us to stop going to our own AMUSAN (Bamijogbin) section land.

“Our people are farmers and the above accused have been preventing us
from going to our farmland, using thugs; physical attacks and violence to achieve their aim.

“In order to avert breach of peace, we have filed a case through our lawyer:
HOD/18/2025: GABRIEL AMUSAN & OTHERS VS MADAM JANET OLATUNBOSUN
& OTHERS and same is pending before Odeomu High Court.

“Our people are presenting suffering in silence with no food to eat and we cannot access our land after attack by thugs with machetes and other dangerous objects.

“It is surprising that the accused have taken laws into their hands despite the pendency of the above mentioned case where we have filed MOTION FOR INTERIM INJUNCTION, MOTION FOR
INTERLOCUTORY INJUNCTION and other court processes.

“This action of these accused persons is however deliberate because of the current strike by Judiciary workers in Osun State and this action can lead to breach of peace, loss of lives and properties, breakdown of law and order if we or other sympathizers decide to retaliate and fight back.

“We have petitioned the Osun State Commissioner of Police among other offices and we are soliciting your intervention for prompt action.”
