The Ogun State Police Command in view of the Easter celebration has assured residents of the State that the Police Command has put in place a tight security arrangement in order to ensure hitch free Easter celebration.

The Command, through a press release signed by the Ogun state PPRO, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, on behalf of the C.P says: “knowing-fully well that the State is hosting headquarters of various religious bodies which in no doubt will attract influx of people from several parts of the Country as well as from outside the country to the state, is leaving no stone unturned in order to secure lives and properties of residents as well as that of the visitors.

“In view of this, large number of Policemen has been tactically deployed by the Commissioner of Police CP Bashir Makama across the length and breadth of the State with a clear mandate of ensuring crime free Easter celebration.

“Men of Special Units such as SARS, PMF and Anti-kidnapping section are also been deployed to nip in the bud any violent crime that may want to rare its ugly head.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama while felicitating with the Christian faithfuls in the State enjoined them to reflect on the reason for crucifixion of our lord Jesus Christ and be good ambassadors of Christ always.

“He also appealed to members of the public to alert the Police whenever they noticed any strange faces, gathering or movement in their area in order to assist the security agencies to perform their duty to the optimal level, as security is everybody’s business.
