The leadership of Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA Global Resource Initiative) has commended the Executive Chairman of Shomolu Local Government, Hon. Salawudeen Abdul-Hammed (Dullar) among others for the unwavering commitment to infrastructural development across all areas in Somolu L.G.A among other pro-people activities.

The group as well appreciate the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Hon. Member of Lagos State House of Assembly representing Shomolu Constituency 1, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya for their support on the Somolu General Hospital Project which seemed abandoned for a long time but now revisited.

The Executive Director of HURMA, Comrade Buna Olaitan Isiak made this commendation in a public address after the general meeting for the month of June where all units of HURMA across the entire Local Government Areas and LCDAs in Lagos among other states are expected to give reports on general Human Rights situations in their areas.

Somolu community representatives gave reports on progress and challenges and ultimately applaud the performance of the present administration under the leadership of Hon. Salawudeen Abdul-Hammed a.k.a Dullar in the development of the community.

According to the coordinator of HURMA Somolu Unit, Comrade Monsur Akinremi,
“Dullar regular contribution to the Hospital management to ensure poor citizens receive free treatment stands him out of many in his position and status”.

The above was corroborated by the Executive Director of HURMA, Comrade Buna Olaitan Isiak who proudly appreciate the general input of Somolu leadership across board in revisiting the General Hospital Project which seemed abandoned for a while.
According to Comrade Buna, the good news of the project revival was communicated to HURMA through a telephone call received from Hon. Orekoya Abiodun from the Lagos State House of Assembly after relating with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the project. This is in fulfillment of his promise to HURMA to dedicate relentlessly in ensuring success on the project.
The appreciation was as well extended to the immediate past former representative of Somolu constituency at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Rotimi Olowo Emmanuel among other notable personalities.

Comrade Buna testified to the commencement of the project saying that an excavator machine is already on the site working on the ground as well as other materials.

HURMA appeals to all stakeholders to ensure that the recent project commencement is made real and not to be soon abandoned as experienced in the past.
“We have been expecting a more standard General Hospital in Somolu as promised by the Lagos First Lady, Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu who was a former Medical Director of Somolu General Hospital and we believe the dream is now coming to a reality”.
