‘Hon. Kuye as Rep of the Year Award Winner’ is Fraud on Somolu Electorates- Rights Group, HURMA Cautions | Rights Monitors

A leading mass based Human Right and Anti-Corruption organization, Human Rights Monitoring Agenda, HURMA has challenged a recent award presented to the Hon. Member of Nigeria National Assembly representing Somolu Constituency, Hon. Ademorin Kuye as fraud on the electorates.

Hon. Ademorin Kuye who is also Chairman, House Committee on Public Assets was recently presented with the award titled “Representative of the Year” by one Global Excellence Magazine during its 20th edition of Excellence Recognition Awards 2024 which took place at Etal Hotels and Halls, Ikeja, Lagos State.
The Human Rights Monitoring Agenda HURMA, declared at a gathering that going by the opinion polls recently conducted by the group in Somolu area, the award of excellence is indeed not complimentary.

According to the Executive Director of HURMA, Comrade Buna Olaitan Isiak and Comrade Monsur Akinremi who is the coordinator of Somolu unit of HURMA, it is only the people represented in the Constituency that can describe the character of their representative at the National Assembly, not an alien group.
“If a beautiful prostitute describes a rich man as a Responsible and Reliable Husband, then we should know that something is wrong somewhere” Comrade Monsur maintained.
Comrade Buna encourage the federal House of Representative member, Hon. Kuye to be true representative of the people and desist from egocentrism.
“It is our duty to call supposed people’s representatives to order, from the Local Government Councillors to the president “.
“Going by the recently conducted opinion polls by our office, it is nothing but gangsterism in politics and total fraud on the electorates, for any group to describe Hon. Kuye as winner of the Representative of the year title.
“Our office gets regular reports from our units across the nation, of people who are also representing their Constituencies, but with visible impacts on the people. You cannot be representing a people who are not aware of your existence and you are far detached from them.
“It must be noted with all sincerity that our intention is general improvement and general development and progress. We desire happiness and joy for the poor and oppressed members of the society.
“We expect improvement from the office of our dear representative, including seeing the office empowering people with disabilities in his office, as expected from others as well”.
