INSECURITY: IJORA-BADIA COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS SENT SOS TO HUMAN RIGHTS AGENDA – Rights Monitors

The people of Ijora -Badia communities of Apapa Iganmu Local Government have sent a Save-Our-Soul message to the Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA) over what they referred to as complete neglect by the Lagos State government and total insecurity due to frequent clash between rivalry cult groups.

According to letter sent to our office, business owners in the affected communities could no longer operate due to regular clash between the cult groups operating in the areas.
Message sent reads in part: “The evil activities of the area boys have taken different dimension. They have now resorted to intimidation, molestation and unwarranted show of force to prove they are above the law. They sometimes loot peoples stores and rape women, including young girls in broad day light to the extent that residents of those communities can no longer work freely as everyone lives in fear”.

“The security operators in the area seem to have as well compromised as no significant impact is felt of their existence in the community”.
The concerned community members plead on the Human Rights Monitoring Agenda to assist with all network available to rescue them from the present situations
Good evening and may God bless the reporter, sincerely we have been living in fear at Ijora just last Sunday as at about 7:25pm some set of opc members attacked a street called “giwa” and they began to shoot on site which happened to claim some life’s and many feared injured also, which wasnt suppose to be so,we plead that the human right comes in to put things right for the masses.
