The Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA Global Resource Initiative) has commended the Federal representative for Somolu Constituencies at the National Assembly, Hon. It was gathered that the new hostel meant for Nursing students, commissioned on the 7th of June 2024 wassponsored by office of the President through the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on the land provided by Igbogbi National Orthopedic Hospital in Somolu. The Human Rights Monitoring Agenda HURMA made a casual visit to the project site on Monday 10th of June while making arrangements to schedule a meeting with the National Orthopedic Hospital Management for other detailed information on the project.”This collaborative efforts between the Office of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), Federal Ministry of Health, the House of Representatives member for Somolu Federal Constituency, Hon. Ademorin Kuye and the National Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi to achieve this goal is well appreciated and commended. This shows the power in sincere collaboration. It is therefore our appeal to all Somolu elected representatives to channel such united effort to ensure necessary attention is given to Somolu General Hospital for the general good of the poor people of Shomolu community”.The Executive Director of the mass based organization maintained that both the people and government have constitutional responsibilities to patriotism and move the nation forward for the general good of all.”Beyond defending the fundamental Human Rights of the people, It is part of our duties to continually educate and as well remind both the ruler and the ruled on their constitutional responsibilities towards patriotism. This regularly demands that we continuously criticize elected representatives with complete sincerity and at the same time commend whatever pro-people effort observed.”Many elected representatives from Local Government to the National Assembly are too far from the people that elected them to the office. Their children no longer attend government school nor members of their families attending government general hospital. This distance from government facilities affect their reasoning and need to be redirected”
