In a message claimed to have sent with tears to HURMA as a reliable organization, the SOS claims the last 72 hours to have been hellish for the people of Ilobu.
The document alleged two neighbouring communities of Ifon-Osun and Erin-Osun to have connived to descend on Ilobu Community through the logistic support provided by a prominent cabinet member of Governor Ademola Adeleke who hails from one of the communities.

“This is the 8th time the violent attacks would be unleashed on the innocent people of a town that has continued to contribute to the peace of this nation.

“Ilobu produced the late patriotic Chief of Army Staff, General Taoreed Lagbaja, who died for this nation, in mysterious circumstances.

“The immediate past Clerk of the National Assembly, Amos Ojo, among numerous others, hailed from this noble town. But rather than protecting the lives of Lagbaja’s kinsmen, a government at the state has looked the other way while the town
burns.

“All cases taken to court since the ‘70s over land disputes up to the Appeal Court, were all won by Ilobu.”

In the appeal to the people’s aides signed by the National President, IDU Ilobu, Pastor Olufemi Salako, the state government is said to have been compromised.
“If not, how could the same crisis be happening for the 8th time in just 18 months under Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration without any meaningful action?

“Were there no governors before him and what has been his responses so far?

The document claims the governor was presented with “uncontroverted evidence of bribery” against members of his committee but rather than removing the key bribe taker, the governor was pleading with understanding and only removed two.

“We have lost absolute trust in Governor Adeleke’s capacity to address this matter. Justice and peace are all that we seek.”

Finally among other demands, the community appeal the president action towards

“Derecting the head of the security agencies to overhaul the security architecture of Osun State and replace them with competent, proactive and unbiased officers to head the critical Commands in Osun State.

“Immediate arrest and prosecution of the ethnic militias that invaded the Ilobu

“Protecting the lives and property of the law-abiding citizens of Ilobu Community

“Directing the Chief of Army Staff to establish a Command and Control Center at the Ilobu Community to reinforce the security networks in Osun State

“Mobilizing aggressively human and material resources towards alleviating the prevailing humanitarian crisis affecting the large number of the displaced residents of the Ilobu Community”
