“We have been briefed by the Muslim Community of Lagos State led by Professor Tajudeen Gbadamosi hereinafter referred to as our client and on whose instructions we write.”

“It is our brief that:

1. On Friday 18th October 2019, at about 2pm the mutilated body of Abdulqudus Anifowoshe, a pupil of Icon Primary and Secondary School, was found in an uncomplicated building a few houses away from his parent’s house. The mutilated and life less body had chemicals substances poured on it, his eyes, tongue, breasts and private parts had been removed all, indicating murder possibly for ritual purpose.

“2. Preliminary findings revealed that the deceased Abdulqudus was last seen with one Daniel Ameh of the same neighborhood with the deceased at about 7pm on Monday 14th October 2019. Report from a police Anti cultism and Anti kidnapping department was said to have tracked a private number which called Abdulqudus last as also belonging to Daniel.

“3. Blood stains were seen on the fence adjourning where Abdulqudus body was found. There is responsible cause to believe that he was killed inside that room and his body therefore thrown over the fence to the other compound.

“4. Daniel grandmother, who is regarded as a community woman leader in the same neighborhood in Igbogbo, was reported to have stated under interrogation that it was Daniel who killed the boy when community members accused her of the evil act since the boy’s remains was traced to her compound.

“5. It is disturbing and calls for concern that Daniel family have subsequently been openly boasting around to the hearing of the Anifowoshe family members that nothing will happen to Daniel or any of the family members as a result of the murder of Abdulqudus. This is not withstanding the obvious fact connecting and implication Daniel to the crime. Surprisingly the officers of the Igbogbo police station led by the D. O. P of Igbogbo Division, Babalola Sharafa rather than conclude investigations into the matter advice the deceased mother to resolve the incident amicably with Daniel’s family as if it is a civil matter and not a heinous crime against the state, with Abdulqudus family being the ultimate unfortunate victim.

“6. In fact, the police officers in Igbogbo police station surprisingly released the suspect and his grandmother, allowed them to move away from the community, and provided them the opportunity to cover up the obvious evidence linking the family and/or it member(s)to the crime committed in their compound.”

“We therefore have the instructions of our client to request you to use your good offices to ensure an unbiased, thorough and conclusive investigation into the cause of death of Abdulqudus, and the reasonable suspicion linking Daniel Ameh and other members of his family to the cruel crime and consequently charge whoever is found responsible for the death of Abdulqudus to court for trial, no matter how highly connected such person may claim to be.

“To this end, we shall remain vigilant and monitor the development as it unfolds though we have counseled our client to remain calm and believe our representation that the state criminal intelligence and investigation department (SCIID)under your watch has all it takes to professionally and diligently detect crime and ensure that the culprits are duly punished for this murder, and this murder would not be an exception that will taint the Sterling record of the department.”
