The above statements as gathered by RightsMonitors was informed by the recent retaliatory extension of killings to known relatives, by the rivalry cult groups in Somolu and Bariga communities.

It is gathered that two women relating to the killed cult leader, have also been murdered.

It is widely rumoured within the above communities, as gathered by our correspondent, Abolaji Adeyemi, that the killing of two popular leaders of the cult group, which is the genesis of present crisis was initiated by a disagreement between the APC House of Representative contestants, Hon. Ademorin Kuye and Hon. Wole Diya, to whom the cult groups have different loyalties.

The road to Somolu L.G via Onipanu police station from Onipanu bus stop was close throughout Saturday 20th of October, by officers of Onipanu Police station due to ongoing crisis.

More so, residents of Olaleye street, behind Somolu L.G Secretariat, where a wife to a recently murdered cult leader resides, are all under serious fear. Although it was gathered that the lady has moved secretly to an unknown destination, the people of the area are keeping serious watch for fear of possible encroachment due to different strange faces moving into De Honourable guest house in Olaleye street, RightsMonitors gathered.

In a report as gathered by our correspondent, Abolaji, who moved from Somolu General Hospital to Igbobi Orthopaedics to capture the total incidents:

“As the news of the death of Solo a alleged gang leader and his said rivalry killer Ibrahim (Small Jaypron) in retaliation went viral, the Rapid Respond Squad men swift into action. They put the enraged frenzy gang members in check. Protection of lives and properties of the people, they told me, was their priority. They took possession of the corpses and ensure things are under control”.

Among those that express concern in the ongoing crisis, is a member Somolu community but presently reside far away, Mr. Michael Kunle. “I have been very sad for 3 days now.Thinking how we got to this stage. Why would our kids hate each other so much as to go as far as killing each other like chickens? I am deeply saddened. I have kids, I feel for them and their family. The supposed leaders of tommorow and builders of our country. Many are going wrong ways. Rampert drugs abuse, cultism and thugery taking away our children. And I know why we are there. But I always feel bad we can not fix it. My generation is failing Nigeria and God. This is not what our fathers gave us.This is not what our fathers expect of us.They expect us to do better. But see what society we have to our children. So so sad. God please don’t forget us….I am very sick and tired of bad news and seeing my people enslaved and suffer. Die like chickens.God help us.”,
