OKADA RIDER’S FIGHT: ONLY TOTAL UNION SEPARATION CAN GUARANTEE PEACE ~ ADE- IKUESAN on LABE-OFIN (RULE OF LAW) @ Bond FM 92.9, Radio Nigeria.
Conflict between transport unions and okada riders will persist except if motorcycle (okada) unit is saperated from the car and bus unit. This was made known by The national Chairman of ANACOWA Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association, Comrade Ade Ikuesan during a radio program “Labe-Ofin” (Rule of Law) on Bond F.M 92.9
On Monday 27th of April 2021, Iyana Iba/Alaba Rago and Ojo areas of Lagos State was in a state of turbulence, due to disagreement between members of the transport unions and the motorcycle (okada) unit. The bone of contention was on ticketing and increment in tariff.
Though The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for immediate deployment of additional police personnel to the area, negotiations has to be made between major stakeholders.
The Command also debunked rumors that the disgreement, not violence as being peddled in the social media, was between some ethnic groups. Without mincing words, the incident has no ethic colouration whatsoever but a mere conflict between transport unions and their okada units which is made up of mostly Hausa riders.

This, he said would perpetually punctuate the regular cries of exploitation and oppression from other “Transport Unions” over “Okada Riders Union” which regularly demands resistance Ade Ikuesan during a radio program “Labe-Ofin” (Rule of Law) on Bond F.M 92.9
