ONIRU FAMILY SET TO REMOVE CONTROVERSIAL OBA GBOLAHAN LAWAL AS ONIRU OF IRULAND – ONIRU FAMILY HEAD

The Omowunmi Abisogun Family of Iru-land has maintained its position that installed king, Gbolahan Lawal is not a member of their family and therefore not entitled to be the Oniru of Iruland.

This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the head of the family, Alhaji Surajudeen Durosinmi on Saturday 29th of January, 2022.

The head of the family while addressing a press briefing said:
“We insists that Gbolahan Lawal is not a member of our family. He was imposed as Oniru of Iru Land by the Lagos Cabal and his cohorts”

The family claimed that One Lawal was neither a member of their family nor qualified to be the Oniru.

“the entire family of Abisogun ruling house of Oniru descendants as the next in line ruling house, unanimously reject the imposition of Wasiu Gbolahan Lawal as the Oniru of Iruland by Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in contravention of the enabling laws providing for the appointment of ‘Next in Line’ in succession to the Oniru Chieftaincy stool and the customary law regulation selection to the Oniru chieftaincy of Lagos of September 14, 1993”.

Gbolahan Lawal, a former Commissioner of Agriculture in Lagos State, was installed as the king of Iruland, by the Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu amidst rejection controversy.

Also present at the press briefing were Madam Olanrewaju Olubunmi Olateju (nee Joshua), Mr Olusola Omoshe, and other members of the family

The family members present disclosed that the rejected Oniru of Iruland, Gbolahan Lawal is trying to buy some family members to himself. The head of The family stated emphatically that none of the original Oniru family will ever compromise their birth right for a plate of porridge.

“Gbolahan Lawal cannot be successful because he is not qualified to be king and therefore occupying a false throne built on falsehood and fraud.”
The attention of the family has been drawn to a fraudulent meeting purportedly initiated by Oniru Family, the head of the Omowunmi Abisogun family emphatically dissociate the family from such illegal gathering which is subjudice , the issue of the Oniru of iru-land is before the competent court of jurisdiction.The family is awaiting the court decision on the matter.
