SANGO GARAGE BOYS TORTURED US AND KILLED MY FRIEND ON ALLEGED PHONE THEFT. VICTIM CALLS ON HUMAN RIGHTS MONITOR FOR SAFETY ~Rights Monitors

… I Managed To Escape. But I Can’t Go to the Police Station Closer to the Garage Because The Suspected Cultist Garage Boys Work With the Police Station.

The Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA) has called the attention of Ogun State Police Command Headquarters to the plight of one Mr.Sheriff Akande, a victim of torture by some suspected cultists at Sango garage in Ogun state.

According to Mr. Akande who approached HURMA central office on Monday, 15 July, 2021 with a member of his family, he told the office that him and his friend was both falsely accused of a phone theft on 25th of January, 2021 and were both subjected to serious torture which eventually led to the death of his friend, Hakeem Olaleye.
Though he managed to escape, the boys are seriously threatening his life and he could not report to Sango Police station closer to the scene of the event because those cult guys suspectedly work with officers in the station.

The PPRO to Ogun State Police Command, DSP Oyeyemi Abimbola, in his online response the Executive Director of HURMA, Comrade Buna Olaitan Isiak, subsequently directed that the victim should meet with Area Commander, Ota for immediate action.
Victim’s report reads in part:
“My name is Sheriff Akande (08127633340). Am a painter and also do house maintenance as a profession (friends call me “maintain”) and I live at No. 12 Arani Street, Sango, Ogun State.
On the 25th of January, 2021, I went to a friend’s shop alongside with a friend and work partner named Hakeem Olaleye at Sango Garage to charge my mobile phone in the early hour of the day. My friend, Hakeem Olaleye, now late, was living at No. 7, Adewunwa Street, Joju, Sango, Ogun State.
The name of the owner of that shop is Tunde. He deals in motor spare part and his nick name is “Part”. I often stay with him in his shop anytime I don’t have work.
After charging my phone, I left to visit a man, Engineer Shola, who invited us for work few streets away from the garage. The address of the man is No. 8 Abeokuta street, Sango. While at Engineer Shola’s place, I received a call from one Oluwaseun who is a junior brother to my friend Tunde a.k.a Parts. Seun alleged that his phone is missing at his brother’s shop and we were the suspects. I took Okada down to the place but was met with several beating on arrival by Seun; Tunde and some others. They concluded that my work partner, Hakeem was the real suspect and we went together to bring him down to Tunde’s shop at Sango Garage. On arrival we were stripped naked and seriously beaten.
Finally, they handed us over to some suspected cult guys with one man popularly known as Jackpot in Sango garage. Those group promised to torture us and took us to a corner in the garage. We were seriously tortured and my friend, Hakeem Olaleye died in the process.
It took the grace of Almighty God for me to escape but I can’t go to the police station closer to the garage because the cult guys work with them.
My life now under serious threats as I have been receiving several calls to show up by those people.”
