Somolu General Hospital Alleged Concession Conspiracy: Council Boss Clears Lagos First lady, Reassures of Gov Sanwo-Olu’s Selfless Dedication – Rights Monitors

The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hammed Salawudeen Dullar has reassured Somolu residents of a complete and unfiltered dedication to a transparent service to his community and as well reassured of his commitment to the allegedly abandoned extension project of Somolu General Hospital.
This statement was in response to a recent letter from the office of the Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA) which demanded from the council Boss to address the community on the present state of the proposed extension project of Somolu General Hospital.

According to the letter signed by HURMA Executive Director, Comrade Buna Olaitan Isiak, “the silence of the council Boss has created a vacuum for many rumors flying around.”
The letter from the Rights Group, HURMA was sent few days after the December 10 World Human Rights Day program by HURMA and was titled
“Reviewing Somolu General Hospital on 2022 World Human Rights Day: Right Group, HURMA Tasks Council Boss on Total Transparency and Accountability” stated in its contents that
“To some community members, major money released on the hospital extension project has been diverted for the Tinubu 2023 campaign agenda and the rest money embesstled. Some are spreading the rumor that a later disagreement emerged between His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Mr. Bola Hammed Tinubu over a leaked intention to concede the General Hospital after completion to the former Medical Director of Somolu General Hospital who is now the first lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. This concession is more of privatization and this would deny the poor community members access to good and affordable health”.

Copies of this letter was sent to all considered interested parties and this include the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Baba-jide Sanwo-Olu; Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, first lady of Lagos State; Senator Abiru, Hon. Ademorin Kuye, MHR; Speaker of LSHA, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa; Hon. Rotimi Olowo, LSHA; Lagos State Commissioner for Health among others.
In the response statement delivered to the Central office of the Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA) by the Local Government Chairman through the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Ladi Omifare, who visited the Human Rights office, stated with emphasize that “His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State is a man with integrity and has promised to see to the starting and completion of the Somolu General Hospital project and work will certainly commence in the new year, on or before March 2023 with no selfish interest whatsoever attached.
Moreso, the first lady of Lagos state, Dr. Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu who was the immediate past Medical Director of Somolu General Hospital, still remains as passionate as ever about somolu general hospital and whatsoever concerns Somolu. All rumors spreading around on proposed concession should therefore be completely disregarded.”
The Council Boss in his statement further request that the rights group should let the whole community aware that “the Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu’s presidential ambition has nothing to do with the construction of our state of the heart general hospital”.
Finally, we want the Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA) to please be reassured that the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government has ever been transparent and accountable for every kobo and actions taken by him as contained in his electoral promises.”
