Just recently, on Sunday 25th August, 2019, an officer of the Nigeria Police Force killed another innocent man at Bello street, Ladipo Oshodi Lagos.
The late Hamed Dauda was into rental services who rented chairs/tables to a Church for an event in Bello street. The church invited high dignitaries and some came with police escort. The rental man reportedly went back to the church to pack his chairs and tables about 8pm when the dignitaries were about to leave, but one of the police escorts, in their usual style of shooting a gun up to scare people away, somehow faced the rental man and shoot him at the head and the man dead instantly..

A Lagos based right activist, Comrade Omotehinse Allex, called on Lagos C.P to act promptly. “The lagos state police command should mandate the musician mega 99 to produce the killer corps within 24 hours”

In his response to the agitation of the Human Rights community, the Lagos State Police PRO, Bala Elkanal has assured that justice would be done. In a brief response to general agitation, which is widely commended by members of the Human Rights community, he said “Investigation has since commenced, justice will prevail”.

The Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA) through the Executive Director of HURMA Global Initiatives, Comrade Buna Olaitan Isiak, has however assured the general public that the matter would be fully monitored towards ensuring complete justice.
